Founded in 1823, the National Museum of Colombia has occupied Bogotá’s former Panopticon building since 1948. Designed by Thomas Reed in the Neoclassical style, the building and the museum’s collections offer a concrete context for considering how architecture, objects, and cultural memory coexist in a museum institution.
