Produced in Argentina from 1960 under licence from the British Motor Corporation, the SIAM Di Tella 1500 offers a way to discuss documenting a historic car without equating preservation with a complete restoration. The exhibit can place the model within SIAM’s history and treat materials, finishes and earlier repairs as evidence of the object’s life, rather than flaws to be erased.
