Nechite is a village in Granada’s Alpujarra, incorporated into the municipality of Válor in 1943. Its historic neighbourhoods and the irrigation channels, springs, water reservoirs and mills associated with traditional water use document how agriculture and hydraulic infrastructure shaped local everyday life. The source also describes village squares as places for neighbourly gathering and notes emigration during the second half of the twentieth century.
